The journal is published in open access, with double-blind peer review, and maintains a firm commitment to expanding knowledge, dissemination, and academic discourse around evidence-based music therapy and its relationship to the fields of health, social care, and education.

Misostenido tiene una periodicidad anual, con publicación continua (flujo continuo). La revista se publica en acceso abierto (modelo diamante: sin cargos para autores/as) y asigna DOI a sus artículos. Misostenido is a multidisciplinary journal that accepts original contributions addressing the role of music as a stimulus in educational, therapeutic, community, and health contexts, from an interdisciplinary and open perspective. The journal welcomes scientific research, theoretical developments, and applied and innovative experiences that contribute to knowledge and practice in fields such as music education, music therapy, neuroscience, and social inclusion.

In keeping with its identity, submissions must explicitly establish their relationship to human well-being, whether from a psychological, emotional, psychosocial, or health perspective. Priority will be given to works that address music as a tool for intervention, development, or research aimed at improving the quality of life of individuals and groups in educational, therapeutic, or community contexts.
