Editorial Director / Editor-in-Chief
- Define and update the editorial policy, ensuring its alignment with the scientific scope of the journal.
- Guarantee a rigorous, transparent, and documented peer-review process.
- Make the final editorial decision on all manuscripts.
- Oversee compliance with international ethical standards (COPE, plagiarism prevention, conflicts of interest).
- Ensure the methodological quality, originality, and international relevance of the articles.
- Lead strategies for the internationalization of the editorial board and authorship.
- Represent the journal before external evaluators and indexing agencies.
- Promote policies aimed at improving the journal’s impact, citation rates, and visibility.
Editor
- Manage manuscripts throughout the entire editorial workflow, from submission to final decision.
- Select independent external reviewers with appropriate expertise and no conflicts of interest.
- Evaluate peer-review reports and formulate a well-grounded editorial recommendation.
- Ensure consistency between the manuscript content and the thematic scope of the journal.
- Verify compliance with editorial guidelines, scientific structure, and references.
- Support the Editor-in-Chief in optimizing editorial timelines (punctuality and regularity).
Associate Editor
- Coordinate special or thematic issues aligned with emerging areas in Music Therapy.
- Ensure the same level of peer-review rigor as in regular issues.
- Propose international reviewers and recognized experts.
- Supervise the thematic and scientific coherence of the special issue.
- Collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief in the final decision on manuscripts.
Editorial Board
- Advise on the journal’s scientific and strategic policy.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of editorial quality criteria.
- Support compliance with standards of institutional and geographic diversity.
- Provide guidance on scientific trends, methodologies, and priority research lines.
- Advise on ethical standards and best practices in applied research.
- Evaluate manuscripts with a strong clinical, educational, or applied component.
- Propose qualified external reviewers.
- Contribute to strengthening the connection between scientific research and professional practice.
- Support the evaluation of social impact and disciplinary relevance.
Advisory Board
- Act as international academic references in Music Therapy and related disciplines.
- Promote the journal within academic environments and international networks.
- Promote the journal in their institutions and research networks.
- Contribute to the academic credibility and prestige of the journal.
Technical Secretariat and Editorial Coordination
- Ensure the formal and technical quality of published articles.
- Manage editing, copyediting, and layout.
- Supervise the correct assignment of DOI, metadata, ORCID, and references.
- Ensure timely publication and editorial regularity.
- Optimize digital visibility, indexing, and long-term preservation.
- Support dissemination, citability, and impact strategies.
