Research data policy

Misostenido advises authors to deposit the research data used in the preparation of their articles in both general and specific open-access repositories that provide persistent identifiers. The aim of this is to facilitate the evaluation, validation and reproducibility of results, and to enable the reuse of the data, code and materials used in the design and execution of published research.

The chosen repository must be open access and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). You can view the re3data register of research data repositories here.

It is advisable to deposit data in the following order of preference:

  1. A consolidated thematic data repository for the specific discipline.
  2. Institutional data repository.
  3. Multidisciplinary data repository.
  4. Other data repositories.

Where possible, it is important to link publications to their associated research data, in order to enhance search results and validate publications with associated data. Each reference must be cited correctly in the manuscript and its permanent URL must be included in both the text and the submission metadata. Care must be taken to include the correct details of the author’s affiliation and institutional affiliation. Doing this properly will increase the visibility of scientific output and ensure compliance with funders’ requirements.
