Keywords:
Presbyphonia, voice disorder, voice therapy, elderly people, music therapyAbstract
Presbyphonia is the progressive deterioration of the voice due to the aging of the person. Its treatment is linked to speech therapy and voice therapy no matter what the socio-emotional consequences are. This article aims to show the benefits of incorporating music therapy into vocal therapies in presbyphonia. In order do it, the AVIVAVOZ workshop consists of seven combinable activities where music therapy is used as a complement, tool, or intervention strategy. Although it has not been possible to carry it out and according to previous research and experiences, positive results are expected not only on a vocal level but also on sociability and emotional improvement. All those studies prove the importance of multidisciplinary activity and the benefits both for the disciplines and the treatment of presbyphonia.
