Open Access and Costs

Misostenido, Music, Education and Therapy Journal, is an open-access publication. All content is published under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) licence.

Readers may use, copy, distribute, transmit and publicly display the full text of all articles, provided that they:

  • cite the author and original source of the publication (journal, publishing entity and URL of the work),
  • do not use the articles for commercial purposes,
  • and state the existence and terms of this licence for use.

Misostenido supports free and open access to research, as it fosters a greater exchange of knowledge both locally and globally, particularly in the fields of music therapy and the arts in healthcare. It therefore helps to strengthen the knowledge society and enhance the quality of professional practice.

In addition, through the Creative Commons (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) licence, the journal protects the intellectual property rights of published works, ensuring proper attribution of authorship and preventing them from being copied, plagiarised or modified, in whole or in part, for commercial purposes other than academic and scientific dissemination.

The costs of typesetting, proofreading, translation, obtaining a DOI, hosting on scientific publishing platforms, digital preservation and the free distribution of published content are covered by Misostenido’s publishing entity.

This means:

  • publishing articles through Misostenido is completely free of charge for authors;
  • the journal does not charge any fees for submitting manuscripts;
  • the journal does not charge fees for the acceptance or publication of articles (no Article Processing Charges, APC).
